Welcome to John Newbery Elementary — Home of the Jaguars!
Nestled near the foothills of the Cascade Mountains on Wenatchee's west side, John Newbery Elementary is a TK–5 school. Our dedicated staff works every day to create engaging, meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire growth. We believe school should be a safe, welcoming place where every student feels known, valued, and supported — socially, emotionally, and academically. We are also proud to be led by a true Jaguar — Principal Mr. Yañez is a former John Newbery student himself, and his passion for this school and its students shows every single day.

Our incredible PTA plays a vital role in bringing our school community together through enriching events and experiences that support students, staff, and families. Principal Yañez

Our principal, Mr. Yañez, is living proof that great things start at Newbery. Once a John Newbery Jaguar himself, Mr. Yañez leads our school with firsthand knowledge of what makes this community special — and a genuine passion for helping today's students write their own stories.
